Mental Health Awareness Week

Week beginning 13th – 17th May 2024


Mental health awareness is 13th - 17th May. To mark this week, we want the children to enjoy some wellbeing activities each afternoon.


Monday 13th May - Walk and Talk - Children to have a 20-minute walk with friends around the yard talking and enjoying the fresh air.


Tuesday 14th May - Wellbeing reflections


Wednesday 15th May - Yoga, massage, mindfulness time.


Thursday 16th May - Regulating emotions work. ‘Food for thought’ school lunch. If your child normally brings a packed lunch but would like to order a special lunch this day- please order at the office.


Friday 17th May - Children can wear green, the colour that is representing Mental Health Awareness week. Our Year 6 wellbeing ambassadors will be decorating an MHA cake for each child to have as a treat. All children will have a MHA sticker to wear.


We will be sending home ideas and links to support parents and carers mental health as well as your children.

Walking Home

Dear Parents and Carers of Year 6,
 
Following our recent survey and in order for the children prepare for high school in September, we are amending one of our covid measures and removing the requirement for Y6 children to be collected by an adult from school at home time.
 
Please read the attached policy and then indicate your permission by completing this google form.
 
Please collect the children from school for the rest of this week as usual. Walking home alone will begin on Monday 5th July for those children whose parents have given permission.
