Our Faith Teams

“I came so that you may have life, and have it to the full.”

– John 10:10

Key Stage 2 Pupils have the opportunity to serve the school as part of our Faith Team. Children are asked if they would like to apply for this important position which requires a commitment to sharing knowledge of our faith and the love of God with all the members of St. John Bosco’s family. When chosen the new members are welcomed and mentored by the current Y6 members of the team.

They are then Commissioned by Father Clement at our start of year Mass in School.

The Faith team plays a vital role in the school's Spiritual life and is supported by the R.E. Lead- Mr McNulty

The Chaplaincy Team have many responsibilities and perform them diligently throughout the year.

They are:

  • To support the spiritual life of the school through Liturgy and prayer

  • Encouraging all our school community to live out our faith in their daily lives

  • Develop positive relationships with and beyond the school community

  • Fundraising for charities

  • Developing stronger links with the Parish:

The Faith team has considered, shared ideas and decided how to do this:

  • Prepare Gospel assemblies and Saint’s day celebrations

  • Organise various charity fund raising events

  • Suggest ideas for RE resources

  • Help to lead liturgies

  • Develop a ‘Mary garden’ and develop the lead prayers in this outside ‘quiet space.’

Chaplaincy team success criteria

  • To listen respectfully to each other’s ideas

  • Communicate with team members, the school and the parish

  • Encourage everyone when making decisions, to share their ideas and to try their best

  • Include everyone when making decisions

  • Become model representatives for the school. Lead by example and love as Jesus taught us, especially people we may not always get along with.

  • Show the school by example how to be ‘Missionary Disciples of Jesus.’

And now I give you a new commandment: love one another as

I have loved you. If you have love for one another, then

everyone will know that you are my disciples.

John 13:3–35
